Privacy
Today we are in a world where as of right now new media and other forms are at its peak. With that the topics of privacy and confidentiality have also emerged. There is a lot of rumors about how the government is watching us and is invading our 4th amendment right to privacy. This is somewhat true. After 9/11 the government passed a law called "The Patriot Act". This actually allowed the government to listen in to calls, track internet searches, and look and text messages. This was used for anti-terrorism. Besides that we can control our privacy and confidentiality on our own through our ways of new media. Majority of the forms of new media have settings where you can control privacy. For example with sites like Twitter and Instagram you either make your account private or public. If it is public anybody can see your profile. If it is private people need to request to follow you to see your profile. But even with all this people can hack into anything they can think of. Issues involving privacy and confidentiality can be prevented, but in reality it can never be stopped from violating.
